Little Black Gallery AI Guidelines for Artists

Originality

Artworks submitted to Little Black Gallery should mainly be the result of the artist’s own creative process. While AI is an exciting tool and is very useful for experimentation, brainstorming or drafting, the final piece should reflect the artist’s vision and unique personal effort.

AI Usage

Artists are welcome to use AI to assist with idea generation or initial drafts but the output should be mainly transformed and integrated with the artist’s own creative work.

Unless the gallery owner or a specific exhibition states otherwise, purely AI-generated artworks, without significant human modification, are not acceptable.

Copyright and Intellectual Property

Artists must ensure that any AI used does not violate existing copyrights or intellectual property rights. It is the artist’s responsibility to confirm that the final work is original and does not closely mimic any pre-existing works.

Knowledge

If AI tools are used at any stage of the creative process, this must be disclosed by the artist in the artwork’s description to help maintain the trust and integrity of purchasers as well as the whole community.

Review Process

We reserve the right to review artists submissions, as always.
